It has been so good to see more of our businesses opening up per the TN Pledge guidelines. With each day more and more people are gaining confidence in venturing out and supporting local. I sincerely hope that the precautionary measures we have taken will allow even more businesses to open in the coming weeks. During this time, our chamber will continue to offer opportunities to network and learn through virtual events until it is safe to host larger, in-person events again.

One upcoming virtual event that you do not want to miss is our May Signature luncheon with the amazing Mignon Francois as our speaker. Mignon Francois is the Founder and CEO of The Cupcake Collection (TCC). Using her “Follow Your Spirit” approach, Mignon developed an iconic flavor that drew lines and attention to the hip nature of her Historic Germantown neighborhood that hadn’t seen this concept developed prior. The success of TCC thereby became icing on the cake amongst the existing North Nashville restaurateurs that would ignite a new movement to the area for other business concepts that might not otherwise have considered doing business in North Nashville. Since planting its roots in 2008, Mignon’s business savvy has earned her the titles of “Woman of Legend and Merit”, “Emerging Business Leader of the Year”, Entrepreneur of the Year” and Black Enterprise Magazine “Family Business of the Year Award”.

Mignon will be presenting, “Ask & You Shall Receive: No money + no credit + no knowledge of the business = Yes to your dreams coming true! How did I get what I wanted? I asked!” Mignon has an inspiring story of entrepreneurship with a message that resonates across a wide audience. The insights and takeaways you will gain from her presentation are especially perfect for navigating through these uncertain times. Plus, I can guarantee that you have never experienced anyone like Mignon. Her energy and positivity is a real treat!

I hope you can join us on May 28th starting at 11:30am for our virtual Signature luncheon meeting sponsored by Vanderbilt Health. Please register at
